Emily is a British artist inspired by light and nature.

Originally from Hampshire in the UK, she spent a lot of time in France and Menorca growing up. Since beginning her career as an artist, she has spent a number of years living and painting in Sydney and Barcelona.

Emily is drawn to life outdoors, particularly the natural beauty and relaxed pace of life by the sea - the main inspiration behind her paintings.

Coming from an artistic family and having studied art as a child, her creative journey started from a young age. It wasn’t until recent years, however, that she began her career as a painter, learning under Piotr Perski (Metàfora Studio Arts), and Ricardo Llopico (Espai Medusa) in Barcelona, and more recently, with Maria Rose, oil painting en plein air in the UK and France.

Emily works with both watercolours and oil paints, seeking to capture the outdoors in an enchanting light. Painting both land and sea, she combines distinctive perspectives with a fresh colour palette, accentuating small hints in nature’s beauty, the warmth of the sun, and the striking contrast where shadow falls.

Her watercolour paintings balance tranquility with an alluring vibrancy, whilst her oil paintings increasingly offer an exciting freshness as she works more and more directly outdoors from life (‘en plein air’).

Emily’s work is on exhibition at Blue Frame Gallery in Barcelona, and Nadia Waterfield Fine Art in Hampshire. She is a returning exhibitor at the Art for Youth annual exhibition held at the Mall Galleries in London.

Emily was shortlisted for the 19th edition of Spain’s l'Alcora-Ximén d'Urrea Young Painter's Prize.
In August 2024 she took part in the Farindola International Artist Residency 2024.
Emily is a Friend of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
